NOTICE OF BI-ELECTION

 

Notice is hereby given that a vote of the Municipality of Norfolk Treherne will be taken to elect Councillors from the following duly nominated candidates:

All voters will also be provided with a ballot to vote on the following question:

 

DO YOU SUPPORT A TAX LEVY ON ALL PROPERTIES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF NORFOLK TREHERNE TO PAY FOR A NATURAL GAS PIPELINE IN THE MUNICIPALITY?

 

 

VOTING PLACES

 

Voting places will be open on Wednesday, the 4th day of September, 2019 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at:

 Norfolk Treherne Municipal Office- 215 Broadway St, Treherne - Ward 1 & 3

 Rathwell Hall – 111 Broadway St, Rathwell - Ward 2

IDENTIFICATION MAY BE REQUIRED BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE. A person may be required to produce one piece of Government issued photo identification (for example – driver’s license or passport) or at least two other documents that provide proof of identity.

ADVANCE VOTING

For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but who have reason to believe that they will be absent or otherwise unable to attend their proper voting place on election day, an advance voting opportunity will be located at Norfolk Treherne Municipal Office and will be open on the 28th day of August between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

 

MOBILE VOTING

For the purpose of accommodating persons who are qualified to vote, but reside at a health care facility, a mobile voting station will be set up at the following health care facilities on election day:

  1. Tiger Hills Health Center – 64 Clark St, Treherne

between the hours of 11:00am- 1:00pm                                                             

 

APPLICATION TO VOTE BY SEALED ENVELOPE

A voter who is unable to go in person to the voting place or vote in advance, may apply in person, in writing, or by fax to the senior election official at 215 Broadway Street, Treherne, Manitoba or fax 204-723-2719.

If applying in person*, a voter may apply between August 7th, 2019 and August 30th, 2019.

*A voter applying in person may pick up a sealed envelope ballot package at the time of application.

If applying by mail or fax**, a voter must apply prior to August 30th, 2019.

** A voter applying by mail or fax will receive a sealed envelope ballot package by regular post, or by making alternative arrangements with the senior election official.
