MUNICIPALITY OF NORFOLK TREHERNE

CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

The Municipality of Norfolk Treherne is located in Central Manitoba with the municipal office situated approximately one-hour drive West of the City of Winnipeg, along P.T.H No 2. The municipality is well-known for its recreation and cultural services, including a 9-hole golf course, an Aquatic centre, hockey, curling, full-service campground, K-12 school and day care, hospital, Run for the Hills Marathon and several museums including its latest, the Second Chance Vintage Car Museum. The municipality offers a diversified farming and business community with a permanent population of 1751 permanent residents.

The Council is seeking a person for the position of Chief Administrative Officer.

The successful applicant will possess the ability to serve Council as its principal policy advisor and be responsible for the effective and efficient administration of all municipal operations by acting as a liaison between Council and staff and by coordinating activities between Departments.

The CAO will have a thorough understanding of pertinent municipal legislation and oversee a broad range of municipal services. The successful applicant will possess experience in municipal administration, financial management and human resource management.

The CAO will be a strong communicator, comfortable in developing strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders such as staff, government, elected representatives, business owners and residents.

The successful applicant will possess excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Several years’ experience in administration of rural and/or urban municipalities an asset.
